Goodbye, Elie Wiesel...

Hey guys. Today, I would like to express my thoughts on Elie Wiesel, a Romanian-born American Jewish writer, professor, political activist, Holocaust survivor, and Nobel Laureate. It breaks my heart to think and say that as of Saturday, July 2nd, 2016, the man who wrote the powerful and inspiring book 'Night' is no longer physically with us. I was and still am so shocked and sad to hear of his passing. I vividly remember reading his book 'Night' a few months ago and becoming emotional during certain chapters. Reading about the deaths and experiences of the Jews as they were separated and taken to different concentration camps was so upsetting as well as scarring. If you've read the book, then you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, then I would highly encourage you to read 'Night' because it really gives you insight into what life as a Jew was like and what really happened to them during the Holocaust. I know that this is a sad and depressing book to read, but if books like this didn't exist, we wouldn't know what truly happened. From the outside, we know that millions of Jews were annihilated, but we don't know what happened while in the concentration camps, and what thoughts and experiences they had. Even though events like the Holocaust shouldn't have happened, they should not be ignored and forgotten about. Instead, they should be used as lessons to not repeat this mistake again and to treat everyone with respect, regardless of who they are, where they're from and what they've done. Though I know he is in a better place, we all miss him dearly and he will always be in our hearts. R.I.P. Elie Wiesel. Thank you for everything you have done for the world, and thank you for reading.

Happy Birthday, Peppy Priya!

Hey guys! What's up? :) Today is a very special day because it is the 1st birthday of.. Peppy Priya! Yay! :) I honestly can't believe Peppy Priya has come this far. Here's a recap of what I've shared with you all in this past year. :)

Over the course of a year, I've done tags such as the Sunkissed Summer Tag, the Music Tag, and the "This or That: Beauty Edition" tag.  (Of course, that's not a complete list. There are a few more.) Click here to view and read the other tags: Tags

Excerpt of the "Sunkissed Summer Tag"

I've also shared several of my experiences and dreams with all of you. Some of the posts include "My Near-Death Experience," "My Favorite Vacation," "My Ideal World," and "The World in the Future."

Photo of the "My Near-Death Experience" post
Last but not least, I started two series on Peppy Priya: "____: Favorite Songs" and "Current Faves:______." "____: Favorite Songs" is a series of posts where I mention several of the songs that I've been listening to frequently in a certain month. "Current Faves: ______" is a bit similar to a Favorites video that you would see on YouTube or another blog. However, it is not something I post at the end of the month, and I tend to discuss only two items that I've been loving, and not 10 or 20.

Thank you all so much for reading Peppy Priya and for making this journey on Peppy Priya possible! I wouldn't have gone this far without you guys, and I can't wait to share more of my thoughts and ideas with you all! Thanks for reading! Stay tuned! :)

My Favorite Skincare Products

Hey guys! What's up? For today's post, I'm going to be sharing my favorite skincare products with you guys! I hope you guys like it! :)

1. BB Cream

One of my favorite skincare products is BB cream. I really love how it does the job of about 5 other products: moisturizer, sunscreen, primer, skin treatment, concealer and foundation. When I apply BB cream, I have basically applied most of my skincare products in one, which saves me time.

2. Ren Lip Balm

My next favorite product is the REN lip balm. It's really helpful as it repairs, soothes, and protects dry or chapped lips. My lips get chapped quite often, so I always keep this handy! Plus, they make your lips super glossy, so it doubles as lip gloss! :)

3. Aveeno Moisturizer

I love the Aveeno Ultra-Calming Moisturizer! It's really smooth, helps rebalance my skin, and is fast-absorbing. I have really dry skin, so this is really helpful.

4. Biosilk Silk Therapy Hair Products

Last but not least, I really like the Biosilk Silk Therapy Hair products. I have a combination of wavy, curly, and frizzy hair, so the serum helps me manage the frizziness and curls. In addition, my hair's damaged because of using the straightening iron so much. So, using the shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair healthy and manageable. :)

Thanks for reading! Let me know what your favorite skincare products are in the comments below! Stay tuned! :)

My Favorite Vacation?!

Hey guys! What's up? :) Today, I'm going to share my favorite vacation, which was my trip to San Diego in December 2015! So, we left for San Diego on Christmas, and stayed at LOEWS Hotel for about 6 days. This was actually a surprise given to me and my brother by our parents because we had the idea that we would stay in an inn. So, we landed in San Diego on Christmas afternoon, and my first impression was, "Dang, San Diego is gorgeous!" Like, all around me, I saw this bright, blue sky and these tall, green palm trees. I was just in awe. It was beautiful. So, we got to the LOEWS hotel where we were planning to have lunch, but something came up and we ended up not having lunch in the planned restaurant. We decided to stay there for an hour to relax, but my parents surprised us by telling us that we were going to stay at that hotel. We were so happy because that hotel was so cool. They had a ping-pong table, a spa, a cool café, and much more. So, enough on the hotel. I feel like I'm rambling about it. We met up with some family friends who live there, and my brother and I stayed at their house for one night. While I was there, we visited UCSD (University of California San Diego), which is where the family's friend daughter studies. That was really cool. On the other days, we visited a variety of museums, which was so fun! My personal favorite was the Museum of Photographic Arts, because I love photography. It was really fun to see the different photos and the different techniques. Their gift shop is pretty nice, too. :) The only downside about this trip is that our flight got cancelled. We were supposed to arrive home on December 30, but there was a problem with the plane. We ended up staying an extra night in San Diego and arrived home the next evening. Overall, I really enjoyed San Diego. It's a gorgeous city, and I would really recommend it for anyone. There's so much to do, so you'll never get bored. :)

Well, I hope you guys enjoyed reading about my favorite vacation. Now, I want to hear from you! :) What has been your favorite vacation so far? Leave me a comment below letting me know.

P.S. If you are still reading this, type, "Dang, San Diego is gorgeous!" in a comment below. :)

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned! :)

Current Events In One Sentence: Ted Cruz, Narendra Modi, Amtrak, and Donald Trump!?

Hey guys! What's up? So, I saw this post on Kate the (Almost) Great's blog. It's called Current Events in One Sentence. Basically, you have to react to current events in one sentence. That sounded really cool, so I decided to try it out! Let me know what you guys think and if you want me to do more of these posts! Shoutout to Kate for this brilliant idea! I'll link her blog below for you to check out. :)

Cruz goes for delegate sweep in North Dakota: Good for you, Ted Cruz!

Amtrak Train Crash In Chester, Delaware County: That's sad to hear.

Trump refuses to condemn manager over alleged assault: Typical Donald Trump.

San Mateo County Resident Tested Positive for Zika Virus: That's really sad. :( I hope the person gets better soon.

PM Narendra Modi Gifts Saudi King Gold Replica of Kerala Mosque: I wonder how the Saudi King feels getting a gold replica.

Azerbaijan declares unilateral ceasefire amid Nagorno-Karabakh violence: That's good.

Brussels Airport Reopens Following Deadly Terrorist Attacks: I hope another attack doesn't happen anywhere after this. (knocks on wood)

About 40 bodies reportedly found in mass grave in Palmyra: Oh my, that's unfortunate. :(

World Autism Day gets attention at the Venetian: That's really cool!

Connecticut Urges Parents to Fight Childhood Obesity: You go, Connecticut! :)
